Book endpapers — what are they and what is their function?
Endpapers are the element connecting the book block to the cover in hardcover bindings, forming an important part of professional bookbinding. They consist of a folded sheet of paper in which one side is glued to the inside of the cover, while the other is attached to the book block.
Endpapers also protect the outer sheets of the book block and may serve a decorative purpose, especially when produced using premium materials.
